Thesis / One great cause can change the world
In the United States animals had enormous difficulties during the 1800’s as their own natural rights were violated by people in growing urban cities. In a country whose government existed to protect the rights of its people, no such organization was chartered or existed to protect the rights of animals.
That was until 1904 when the Anti-Cruelty Society was founded in Chicago, Illinois. In the 110 years that they have been in operation, they encouraged urban areas and beyond to acknowledge and protect the rights of animals, contributed to clean urban environments, helped control pet populations, and have had a unique impact on the entire nation's thinking about animal welfare during the process. |

Though graced with political manners and fine sense, Yet wanting sensibility, the man Who needlessly sets foot upon a worm.” -Cowper, Boston MA, 1886 |
