Long-term Impact / Cleaner cities, animal rights and love
The Anti-Cruelty Society contributed to the acceptance of animal rights. Large cities now have smaller populations of stray animals and fewer incidents of public health problems. According to ACS, each year, about 8 million stray and unwanted animals are taken by shelters across the country. Many more families and many more pets have come together and experienced love and companionship.
